Paying and thanking someone for your meal
What will you learn from the English lesson on thanking and paying for your food?
You will learn some how to how to tell someone you enjoyed their meal you have just eaten. The last part of the lesson is a short conversation between 2 people who both want to pay the bill.
Thanking someone for your food
When you have finished eating your food people often thank the person who has cooked the meal for them.
Examples:-
Thank you for a lovely evening .
I really enjoyed that.
You must show me how you made that cake it was delicious.
John:- That was an excellent meal.
Waiter:- I'm glad you enjoyed the it.
Asking to pay for the meal
Can we get the bill (BrE) / check (AmE)? ** (BrE= British English) (AmE = American English ) **
Sarah: Right. I'll get this.
Jane: Oh, no, you won't. I'm paying.
Sarah: But you paid yesterday. It's my turn today.
Jane: No, I insist. You're my guest.
