What will I be learning during the lesson days and dates English lesson?
During this lesson you will learn what each day of the week is called. The next part of the lesson you will start learning the numbers that are used with dates. You will then learn the 12 months of the year and how to write the date in full using the day, month and year.
Dates using ordinal numbers
There are between 28 and 31 days in every month. to be able to write dates in English you must learn the ordinal numbers 1 to 31.

How to write the date
To write the date you write the day first, month and then the year.

How to say the date
To say the date you must use the word 'the' definite article before the day and the preposition of before the month.
19th October 2012 = The nineteenth of October Two thousand and twelve
4th August 1972 = The 4th of August nineteen seventy two
