Why are the list dolch words important?
Dolch words are very important when learning the English language, because If you can recognize on sight, 8 of the 10 words that are in any sentence, before you can read the full sentence and also understand the remaining words by means of context, phonics, or pictures, you will be able to understand the meaning of the full sentence.
How many dolch words are there?
There are 220 Dolch Words that comprise about from 60 to 85% of the text that you find in children's early reading books and materials. The list can also help anyone starting to learn the English language.
Learning a new language
An adult or child can use these words. People who learn the Dolch Words will have a good base they need to recognize a large amount of the words in a typical sentence or passage.
